The tour leaves from Puerto Madryn southwards. It goes
through the Patagonian plateau until the spot known as
Dos Pozos'. There it can be still seen a stone building
which was one the first telegraph's office at the
beginning ot the 20th century. In this area, the
proximity to sea makes the vegetation different to the
one watched on the plateau. On the way ,it is possible
to see the wide diversity of typical Patagonian fauna
such as ¤andu (American ostrich), guanaco, Patagonian
hare (maras) fox, Patagonian armadillo, eagle,
Patagonian owl,etc. It goes through the ranch'La Perla"
in which during season(September-October)the different
work ranch tasks can be observed.Later,it gets to Punta
Tombo, the biggest continental penguin reserve in the
world (about 1.000.000). Once inside the reserve, it is
possible to see the penguins in their caves, nests and
by footpath to enjoy the whole Magellanic penguins
colony. On the way back, we will stop for lunch (not
included). Then, the tour goes to the city of Trelew,
where it is possible to visit the Paleonthologic Museum
Then, the excursion continues to the town of Gaiman, a
Welsh colony located on the Lower Valley of Chubut's
river, where the typical Welsh tea can be tasted (not
included).The tour finishes in the city of Puerto
Madryn. Penguin season: from mid Sept. to mid April.
